Today was a good day for Cooper. He rested well, and got some milk of magnesia to start clearing his system. Unfortunately, they didn't remove any of his tubes--there's still too much liquid coming out of his stomach to remove the NG tube, but it is improving. Hopefully tomorrow.... The plan changed on removing the epidural and catheter. They now want to switch him from the epidural painkiller to oral painkiller, rather than adding more IV painkiller, as IV painkillers slow down the gut, which is the opposite effect than what we want.

Cooper's been learning to braid...his tubes. One nurse said she'd never seen anyone tangle them as much as he did--impressive! ;-) We look forward to a boy free of tubes!! |

Our early morning shot. Wow, do I look tired! |

Because some of Cooper's tubes are attached to the wall, we can move only about 2 feet away from the crib, so we spend our time in this recliner, surrounded by toys within reach. We are thankful for the nurse who broke the rules and gave us this chair because it's very comfortable, but it does sometimes feel like you're chained to the chair and can't escape even to go to the bathroom ;-) |

His tummy liquid is lighter and there's less of it coming out--a really good sign :) |

Look, Mom! More braiding! |
