Updating our homestudy....

Our homestudy expires next month, so we're in the process of updating it. So thankful that we have such a great social worker to help us through this, but sad that our baby hasn't found her/his way to us yet....

We are cleared! (again)

Yesterday we received our last clearance update (FBI) so we are READY! :)

Looking forward to a trip to Florida soon!

Clearance updates in process

Because Florida law requires all of our clearances to be current when our child is placed with us, we just finished filling out paperwork and getting fingerprinted again. So, the City, State (2) and Federal clearances are in the works. Should only take a couple of weeks, so we'll be ready for the referral!! :)

Getting close!

Talked to Shepherd Care -- we have moved from the 2nd page to halfway down the 1st page of families waiting for referrals!! Yay! We are getting close :) Stay tuned!

Trying to stay positive...

I just spoke with Shepherd Care. Our profile book has only been shown once, in January. It hasn't been shown since then. The good news is that they are still having placements and haven't seen a change in the number of birthmoms making adoption plans... So, we wait, and know that our child will find us when the time is right....................

Our profile book is being shown!

We've been waiting since September 21, 2010 to get the news we got yesterday. Our profile book has started to be shown to birthmothers. Now we just wait for our child's birthmother to choose us as the adoptive family :)

Hoping to be at the top of the list soon...

I spoke with Shepherd Care about 3 weeks ago and found out that our profile book hasn't yet been shown to any birthmothers. We're still waiting to come to the "top of the list" so our book can be shown. The good news is that our caseworker said she thought it would probably be shown my mid-February. Fingers crossed!!

In the meantime, we've been getting the house ready like crazy! We've changed lights, repainted, and replaced outlets and switches in the family room, cleaned all the carpets, organized the office, etc.
